This is Jacquie Berger's second year as a Palestra reporter, and she's loving every second of it. Jacquie's a junior at Vanderbilt University and is excited about the Vanderbilt Commodores! She was a Vanderbilt cheerleader her freshman year and is now into triathlons.

Battle of the Bands

It's the night before the Music City Bowl and the city of Nashville is excited! This is the first time the Vanderbilt Commodores have played in a bowl game in 26 years...and it just happens to be in their backyard. CMT hosted its annual Battle of the Bands event, which is one of the largest pep rallies in the South East. Around 12,000 fans, cheerleaders, and band members came out to support the Vanderbilt Commodores and Boston College Eagles to victory.

The neat thing about living in Nashville is that when the stars come to town, they are like every other person who lives in and visits Nashville. When the Country Music Association awards were in town, Kenny Chesney performed at Tootsies--a local Nashville honkey tonk. The entire city came out to support him and his band.
