Danny Ecker Bio
After spending his senior year at Northwestern University reporting on Wildcat sports, Danny moved back to his hometown to work for Palestra.net. He is now a graduate producer/reporter and is happy to be living in Columbus-- the greatest city ever created by mankind.
When he is not at the office or reporting in the field, Danny spends his time playing a variety of sports, watching reruns of Boy Meets World, and patiently waiting for the Columbus Blue Jackets to make a playoff run. His role models include Mr. Rogers, Zack Morris, and former Ohio State quarterback Craig Krenzel. Sesame Street's hard hitting news reporter Guy Smiley inspired Danny to start a career in broadcasting.

"Meh" Added To The Dictionary
2008-12-15 14:56:44
As a journalism major, my relationship with the English language is one of deep and powerful love.
And I know, that sounds pretty messed up.
But today, the language I love gave me a little wink-- a subtle reminder of why I feel the way I do about it.
The word "meh" was added to the Collins English Dictionary after enough people called for it to be included. It's an expression so many people use every day, and probably don't even realize it. The Simpsons got the ball rolling by using it in a random episode years ago, but at last there is validation for one of my favorite words.
And now I have a great new weapon for my ongoing Scrabble rivalry with my mother.

O.A.R. Rocks OSU
2008-11-22 00:12:16
I just saw my ninth O.A.R. concert.
Don't be surprised, though. They have been my favorite band since I first saw them perform in front of a couple hundred fans when they all attended Ohio State about eight years ago.
And tonight's concert ranked up there with the best of them.
The cozy Newport Music Hall setting on campus made it a lot more personal than usual, and the sound, as always, was fantastic.
Not much to say except that I say OF, you say A, I say REVOLUTION, and you say..... JA.

Greg Robinson Fired
2008-11-16 14:47:39
Looks like enough is enough in upstate New York. Syracuse AD Daryl Gross says he has informed head football coach Greg Robinson that the Orange are ready "to move our football program in a new direction".
Robinson will coach the final two games for the Orange this season. He has a 9-36 record at the Syracuse helm.
Steve Andress will have more from Gross' press conference here in a bit. Be sure to come back and check it out!
