Danny Ecker Bio
After spending his senior year at Northwestern University reporting on Wildcat sports, Danny moved back to his hometown to work for Palestra.net. He is now a graduate producer/reporter and is happy to be living in Columbus-- the greatest city ever created by mankind.
When he is not at the office or reporting in the field, Danny spends his time playing a variety of sports, watching reruns of Boy Meets World, and patiently waiting for the Columbus Blue Jackets to make a playoff run. His role models include Mr. Rogers, Zack Morris, and former Ohio State quarterback Craig Krenzel. Sesame Street's hard hitting news reporter Guy Smiley inspired Danny to start a career in broadcasting.

Greg Robinson Fired
2008-11-16 14:47:39
Looks like enough is enough in upstate New York. Syracuse AD Daryl Gross says he has informed head football coach Greg Robinson that the Orange are ready "to move our football program in a new direction".
Robinson will coach the final two games for the Orange this season. He has a 9-36 record at the Syracuse helm.
Steve Andress will have more from Gross' press conference here in a bit. Be sure to come back and check it out!

Jim Tressel Just Walked Out On A Press Conference
2008-11-06 12:23:03
Jim Tressel just walked out of a press conference. Pretty sure that has never happened before during his time at Ohio State.
Tress came out for his weekly Thursday media availability, and was immediately bombarded with a dozen questions about the suspension of Ohio State WR Ray Small-- after The Columbus Dispatch and Cleveland Plain-Dealer published the story in today's issues.
Clearly annoyed by the questions (at least, as annoyed as he gets), Tressel repeatedly dodged the questions. He acknowledged that Small won't be playing this week, but that was about it. And after the 13th question about it, he simply said he thought we'd be talking about Northwestern today. Then he walked away.
Something was eating at Tress today. Maybe it was the fact that Ray Small's dad has opened his mouth about his son's situation.

Unbelievable.
2008-11-04 22:51:15
Sitting here in my apartment, flipping through news channels and scanning websites that all don the same headline: "Barack Obama Elected President", I fully realize how historic this night is. So I figured I'd jot down some emotions.
Tonight is one of those nights that all of us-- especially those of my generation-- will remember for as long as we live. We'll remember where we were when we heard the news, how we felt, and when it truly sunk in that we just elected our nation's first black president. We did something today in our country that Americans 100 years from now will study as a critical moment in the development of the United States.
Think about the fact that when our parents were our age, the idea of electing a person of color to the highest office in the country was absurd. It was something they thought the nation couldn't handle. It was something they were sure would never happen in their lifetime.
But tonight, regardless of political affiliation (and rest assured that I am one of the most apolitical journalists there could be), we have to take a step back and be proud of what we have proven. We have the ability to look beyond race to make the United States the best place to live in the world.
Pretty damn cool.
