Filed under Politics (National) RESIDENCY: The Next ACORN?

... As the rest of the world focuses on ACORN and registration fraud, Tiffany and I have been looking at another issue concerning actual voter fraud: RESIDENCY.
(SEE VIDEO up top)
If:
1. Voters in Ohio don't need to show ID during early absentee voting,
2. Secretary Brunner does not have to provide Social Security info OR BMV info to the Boards of Election in Ohio,
3. The Boards of Election do not do state-by-state checks (Explained to us by the Director of the Franklin County Board of Elections Michael Stinziano),
... then how is the Secretary of State making sure these voters actually live where they say they live?
And what prevents someone from visiting Ohio, registering with a temporary address, and casting a ballot?
Tiffany found some interesting information in an advisory from the Secretary of State regarding temporary residency:
"A person's temporary presence in Ohio, such as during a vacation or working in Ohio on a temporary basis, does not make the person eligible to register and to vote in Ohio."
We contacted Republican and Democratic elections attorneys and were able to meet with William Todd today to discuss this issue.
Todd confirmed the fact that if someone were to register with a temporary address and cast a vote in Ohio, that vote would in fact be an act of FRAUD.
According to Todd, we may have found more than one such case, centered around volunteers from a "get out the vote" group. They came to Ohio with the goal of getting Ohioans to register and cast ballots for this election.
Is that legal? Of course.
HOWEVER- according to what we've been told by a member of the Franklin County Board of Elections, more than a dozen of these volunteers registered to vote at a temporary address, requested absentee ballots, and...
VOTED.
That's right, a few of these volunteers have already cast ballots despite the fact that they were working here temporarily and (according to William Todd's expert legal opinion) are NOT residents of Ohio.
This story is far from over, and with Wednesday, October 15th being the deadline to challenge ballots in Ohio, this is a very critical time to ensure that the 2008 presidential election is as "pure" as possible.
Stay tuned...
